Wilderness First Responder Course Description:
An advanced program for outdoor professionals
who work in remote settings, rescue personnel, and those requiring
a solid foundation in wilderness pre-hospital emergency care.
In addition to the material covered in the 40 hour program,
special emphasis is placed on traumatic injuries, incident
command, long term patient care, leader responsibility and
liability, advanced medical aid kits, wound cleaning, evacuation
procedures, and working with Emergency Medical Services.
**Note that this WFR course will
be taught as a 40 hour Advanced Wilderness First Aid (AWFA) Course
followed by a 50 hour WFR Bridge Course (consecutive).
Upgrade your 40 hr certification with the Bridge Course:
Join us for the last five days
of training in a WFR Bridge Course (50 hr) to upgrade your
AWFA (40 hr) certification to the WFR level.
Location: Wendigo Lake Expeditions, South River, ON
Dates: April
10-18, 2012 (Four days of AWFA +
Five days of WFR Bridge)
Times: 8:30am – 5:30pm (daily);
6:30pm – 10:30pm
Tuition (meals incl.):
$855 + tax (WFR) or $510 + tax (Bridge)
*Additional $20/night for accommodations*
