This workshop is designed for those who are learning to use, or are using, experiential and adventure based approaches in their work and are wanting to expand and develop their repertoire of techniques to process and debrief experiences while enabling participants to reflect on and learn from their experiences.
Participants from all experience levels will find a facilitation course that suits their needs and will learn:
• Tools and strategies for encouraging group cohesion
• An extensive array of active debrief methods and models
• How to properly select and sequence debrief methods
• The facilitation of focus topics and how to establish facilitation flow
• Frontloading and the development of metaphors
• How to use the experiential learning cycle to guide the facilitation of a debrief
• Skills for handling conflict and group dynamics to move the group forward

ACHIEVE LEVEL 1:
Introduction to Adventure Based Learning – 1 Day Course:
This workshop serves as an intense, 1-day games facilitation training for you or your organization. Learn to integrate the basic concepts of adventure based learning & experiential education into your work, in a time, and cost-effective way. You’ll gain a huge repertoire of simple games and initiatives that can be used with any group to enhance group dynamics, cooperation, and growth. You will also learn valuable information about managing groups, planning and setting up activities, and keeping your participants physically safe and emotionally secure.
ACHIEVE LEVEL 2:
Adventure Learning Facilitation – 2 Day Course:
Building on skills learned in Level 1, this is an action packed workshop designed to give participants an overview of adventure based learning processes and framing while experiencing an extensive range of adventure based learning games and activities that match with the various stages of any group’s development process.
Participants will learn about:
• Introduction to briefing and debriefing; group contracts/ goal setting
• Challenge by Choice; program design and sequencing
• A wide range of fun, easy to use experiential activities for your bag of tricks

ACHIEVE: LEVEL 3:
Advanced Adventure Facilitation – 3 Day Course: Building on skills learned in Level 2, this course offers in-depth theory about adventure based curriculum including: how and why it works; the best techniques and practices; and solid research-based information about how to facilitate learning through adventure programming. Participants will leave with a strong sense of how to engage their participants, the opportunity for peer-reviewed facilitation/tips & tricks, and knowledge about the experiential education community in order to further their development as facilitators.
This course includes:
• Discussion of advanced adventure facilitation concepts
• Advanced frontloading and debriefing skills + program design
• Developing facilitation flow and navigating facilitation 'pot-holes'
• Choosing the right leadership style: working with resistant groups
